A simple way to buy into a practice of minimalistic clothing. The challenge is yourself, with carbon footprint reduction in mind.

Buying into minimalism doesn’t have to be expensive. Another way to reduce carbon footprinting through this process is probably an obvious suggestion, which is to thrift, sales & discount shop and secondhand buying. The challenging or fun part about this concept is to do this with self-limitations.
“Try to have in mind what you’d like to buy and don’t stray away from it (the more your eyes wander, the more likely you are to get more than what you set out to buy).”
Suggestions for a guide
There are various ways to limit the amount of things you buy. Create a plan before you go out to shop for clothes and accessories, while challenging yourself to stick strictly to that plan. Try to have in mind what you’d like to buy and don’t stray away from it (the more your eyes wander, the more likely you are to get more than what you set out to buy). When shopping in regards to these three categories, focus on the amount of clothing and not so much the price; they’ll typically be lower than retail when you checkout. Limit yourself to how many times you go to shop, whether it be weeks, months, a year or even years. You can even limit yourself by having a set number on a sticky note for an article of clothing and wear it that many times before going shopping again (cheesy but works). The list can go on.
The point is while this is the simplest and probably most preferrable way, the biggest challenge to not over-buy when shopping is yourself.
